"(Smells Like) Teenagers" is a fun look at life with teens; the good, the bad, and the smelly. This alt rock/hip hop tour de farce is not only the first song on the album, but the first song written and recorded for the album; the inspiration for it all! If you question whether teenagers actually do smell, then just watch the video. (Backup vocals and samples graciously provided by Unfit Company: Stacia, Ceilidh and Reilly)

Lyrics

Try to find the floor, back behind the door
Where the messy people lie
Not so long before, they wore clothes off the floor
You used to hug them like a child

But if you find the time, to read a nursery rhyme
That look says you’re so off base (Da-d)
Because they’re so much more, than they were before
And they throw it in your face

Hey put those vines away, you’ve watched enough today
That stuff is gonna rot your brain
Lost behind a screen, my little face-time teen
“My homework’s not due until Friday”

With their dishes strewn, across their bedroom
And all the ants want more
A room so out of hand, it’s like a garbage can
But they’ll take selfies on the floor

Teenagers Smell

Smells like teen spirit, that’s just what they believe
It’s just that teenagers smell
They steal mom’s magazines, and her skinny jeans
And cut her dresses up as well (“where’s my dress”)

They wanna dye their hair, get piercings everywhere
They’ll even do it by themselves
Have you seen their bathroom? Don’t go in there today
It’s like a pink dye massacre
