"Livin' in the COT" is a fun alternative hip hop shout-out to our little town of Cotati, California, population ~7000. But it's a town that lives and breathes music with four live music venues on the single-block main drag of downtown known as "The Cotati Crawl"; Redwood Cafe, Friar Tuck's (formerly the Inn of the Beginning), Tradewinds and Spancky's. Cotati is also home to the annual summer Accordion Festival as well as Zone Recording Studios who so finely mastered this album for me. (Thanks to Stacia for flushing out the backups with Ceilidh, and for Erik's suggestion that I re-record the bassline. Priceless)

Lyrics

Livin’ in the COT
There’s so much to do here
Right next to RP
Redwood Café & Spancky’s

Just a little ways on down the road
There’s the flower guy with a full vanload
Zone’s still there with Loud and Clear
Blair Hardman back behind the gear

ADDC playing Spancky’s late
Try that one on your next blind date
The music’s cool I gotta boast
Then there’s “Unfit Co” they rock the most!

Livin’ in the COT
There’s so much to do here
Right next to RP
Redwood Café & Spancky’s

Oliver’s, now that’s the city’s glue
You’ll be going there long before you’re through
And of course there’s always SSU
No I forgot, that’s RP too!

That polka thing comes once a year
Zydeco too to catch your ear
Don’t you miss that Duckmandu
Accordion ‘Smack!’ the festival's here!

I know I just can’t leave
Must make the best of life here
Underwater’s not for me
But I’m here livin’ in the COT

Inn of B’s closed and Porter Street too
But there’s still a lot of stuff to do, you bet!
There’s Tradewinds, Yacht Club, & 8 Ball!
Even Friar Tucks “I can’t go there yet”

Have some good food, meet Moose and Mike
Leave the car and ride your bike
Cause Cotati PD be watchin’
I swear Officer B. I wasn’t textin’!

Livin’ in the COT
There’s so much to do here
Right next to RP
Redwood Café & Spancky’s
